The contribution features fieldwork recordings of folk songs from the region of Knjaževački Budžak in eastern Serbia. The songs were told by two tellers—one of them is originally from the village of Aldina Reka, and the other from the village of Vrtovci. Among the six poems noted down from the first teller, one is a work harvesting song and one is a ritual song related to the holiday of Djurdjevdan, whereas the others (one of them is fragmentary) were sung at gatherings, while tending sheep, or on some other occasions. Both songs written down from the other teller are ballads, usually sung at gatherings.
