The text is a brief description of the way of living (and the fascination with it) of the Ethiopian Dorze tribe. The Dorze people, organized in small communities, inhabit the southern parts of this country, on the plateau of Gamo-Goffa highlands. The Dorze are quite well-known by their unique way of building bamboo houses, and they are also superb weavers. They are predominantly an agricultural society. Among various sorts of plants they grow, enset is the one particularly standing out—it is similar to a banana tree, and they use its fiber to make tasty bread which the author had the opportunity to try during her stay in one of the villages. The Dorze people are willing to demonstrate their way of living to tourists in exchange for money, which is almost their sole source of the ready money. The brief description has been made after the author’s journey through Ethiopia in February 2024.
